One German shepherd dog was presented to teaching veterinary clinical complex, OUAT, Bhubaneswar with a history of frothy salivation, dull, depressed, abnormal gait and wound at left hind leg with swelling at shoulder region. It was diagnosed for snake bite based on the history and physical examination. The hematological parameters showed reduced values of hemoglobin, and increased value of total leukocyte count. The biochemical investigation showed significant elevated levels of serum alkaline phosphatase and serum urea with low serum total protein concentration. The successful treatment was done with dressing of wound and administration with antibiotic, anti snake venom and hepatonics. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
