Silk is a natural filament fiber which is a solidified protein secretion produced by certain caterpillars to encase themselves in the form of cocoons. Silk is a protein fiber so acid dye is excellent for printing and babul gum which is also acidic in nature so it is good for printing with acid dyes. Textile printing is the process of applying color to fabric to definite pattern or design. In properly printed fabric the color is bonded with the fiber. There are various types of printing style like block, screen, stencil etc. which is used for embellishment of fabric. In any dyed or printed fabric, it is necessary to have excellent color fastness. So there are various tests to determine color fastness like washing, rubbing, light etc. Gray scale was used for assess the result of fastness and blue wool scale was used for assess the result of sun light.
