Wool being a natural fibre and having characteristic scaly structure has tendency to felt under the action of detergent, temperature and agitation. Therefore washing of wool needs a very delicate handling and special detergents which are mild compare to normal washing detergents. Over the past 40 years, the importance of enzymes in detergents has changed from being the minor additives to being key ingredients. Advent of enzymes in the field of detergents has done miracles for detergent industry. Thus wool detergents formulations with enzyme are safe, eco-friendly, energy-conserving and consumer friendly. This review work tries to focus on importance of enzymes as a key ingredient in wool detergent formulations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
