Ti-55 alloy is a near-α high temperature titanium alloy, which exhibits good thermal strength and thermal stability with the service temperature up to 550℃, thus it shows great application potential in aviation and aerospace field. Since the macroscopic mechanical properties of the metal are determined by the hot working microstructure, it is of great importance to study the behavior of dynamic recrystallization and the evolution of microstructure during hot deformation. In order to study the microstructure evolution of Ti-55 alloy during hot deformation, the hot compression experiments were conducted at the temperatures of 950℃-1050℃ and strain rates of 0.001s -1 -1s -1 on a Gleeble 3800 hot simulator. The cellular automaton model for dynamic recrystallization (DRX-CA) was established and the dynamic recrystallization process was simulated during hot compression. The simulation results are in good accordance with the experimental ones, which verifies the reliability of the CA model. The results indicate that the deformation temperature and strain rate exhibited important influence on the recrystallized process and microstructure evolution. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
