The article examines some of the major transforming steps that have occurred with regards to travel and tourism for individuals with special health needs. Topics discussed include lobbying of activist Dorothea Dix for better living conditions for individuals with mental conditions, number of children with disabilities accommodated by U.S. public schools before the Education for All Handicapped Children Act (EHA) was enacted in 1975, and information on the 1990 Americans with Disability Act. |
