Abstrakt: The article discusses several basic facts about fire that rookie firefighters should learn and be aware of. It describes fire as a chemical reaction that combines oxygen, fuel and heat and is an exothermic reaction as it creates substance, char, and ash. The three components of fire include fuel, heat, and air and fire can be suppressed by clean agent halon replacements, which break up the uninhibited chain reaction of combustion. The two types of fire are pool fire and compartment fire.
