This article discusses building collapse indicators related to the present state and history of the building. The indicators listed include previous fire damage, excessive snow or water on a roof, and plaster sliding off walls in large sheets. Mentioned also are the different problems that firefighters face in buildings under construction, renovation or demolition, the collapse indicators associated with water usage and building loads, and the ways a building collapse can affect a fire. |
