| Abstrakt: | The article presents the author's views on the U.S. Army's combined arms live-fire exercises (CALFEXs) held at the Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC), Fort Polk, Louisiana in 1996. Topics include the failure of JRTC in meeting its goal of conducting battalion CALFEXs, the implementation of unified land operations in a decisive action training environment. Also discussed are the differences between CALFEXs in the 1990s and 2015. |
