| Abstrakt: | The article discusses the history and origination of the U.S. Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) or the Obamacare. Among the health policies and legislations amended before the Obamacare include the Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) Act of 1973, the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and Medicare for Americans older than 65 established under former President Lyndon Johnson's government. |
