In order to improve quality and productivity of eri cocoons, and also to cater to the increasing demand for basic and commercial eri silkworm seed of the country, a slew of measures have been taken by the Central silk Board. Creation of a network of seed production units, effective implementation of schemes, encouragement of public-private participation are aimed to boost eri seed production as well as raw silk production substantially.
