The article discusses how sheriffs can use the U.S. Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) to help victims of crimes recover financially. The law enables law enforcement agencies to help crime victims through their own, agency-based victim assistance units and state crime victim compensation programs. The federal government has increased funds available under VOCA. |
