A biography of U.S. journalist Dorothy Ashby Pownall is presented. It explores the professional life and journalism of Pownall during the first half of the 20th century. Pownall's insight about the field of women's journalism in the Midwest is examined. Also discussed are Pownall's professional tactics and journalism from the beginning of her work for the "Des Moines Capital" through her publications in "Ladies's Home Journal" and the "Saturday Evening Post." |
