Abstrakt:	Improving environmental literacy is imperative to the wellbeing of children and the planet. This paper makes the case for fully integrating environmental education into preservice teacher education, rather than relegating it to the purview of teacher, school, or district initiatives or to community-based partnerships that may not be able to provide a cohesive and comprehensive approach to the content.
