| Abstrakt: | The article examines history of religious organization Benevolent Hibernian Society (BHS) and sectarian relations in Baltimore, Maryland. A background of the BHS is discussed which was established by John Campbell as well as the history of benevolent societies in the U.S. Also tackled are BHS reorganization after the War of 1812, its responsibilities, and Irish and Scottish immigration to Baltimore. |
