| Abstrakt: |
The subject of the paper is the burning issue of poverty in the Republic of Croatia and the need to solve it. Therefore, civil society organisations that discover effective ways of reducing the social problem in question play a crucial role in that process. The paper discusses the relationship between poverty and social exclusion. It stresses the role of non-profit organisations whose activities in the fight against poverty are closely related to the very definition of civil society. The main contribution of the paper is the mapping of key organisations dedicated to reducing poverty. In order to improve their activities in fighting poverty in Croatia, a model has been devised, defining the phenomena of poverty and social exclusion as well as presenting concrete measures and goals.
