Nesting and over-wintering sites of Aesculapian snake, Zamenis longissimus, in an anthropogenic landscape in the northern extreme of its range.

Abstrakt: The article presents the result of observations on the nesting behavior in the Aesculapian snake Zamenis longissimus found in northwest Czech Republic in June 2007. The variables recorded include the oviposition selected by the snakes, the natural and semi-natural habitats and over-wintering sites. The level of adaptation of snakes to anthropogenic structures is mentioned.
