Abstrakt: The implementation of dynamic changes in information technology (IT) has created a unique interdependence among nations, whether they are capitalist or communist, developed or underdeveloped. Adoption of new technologies for the creation, storage, and distribution of information has reduced the usefulness of the rigid hierarchical organization structures which were effective in the past. Greater informational efficiency makes Jot better utilization of scarce resources and minimization of effort duplication. If we are to reduce the hazards of a reckless application of information technology and to maximize the benefits from its use, then we need to fully understand the nature and characteristics of information and information technology. This paper will attempt to show the relationship between information theory and telecommunications and how the latter exercises a pervasive influence on several present day institutions.
