Abstrakt: The article offers guides on designing proper orthotic supports for women that focus on the lower-extremity to prevent disability associated with aging. Topics discussed include the unique anatomical differences of women's foot from men, and foot problems in women linked to abnormal biomechanical forces in the feet such as wearing high-heeled and constrictive shoes. Also mentioned are orthotic solutions that address problems in the arches, metatarsals, quadricep muscles and patella.
