This article describes the experiences of several Asian gay men on growing up in Los Angeles, California prior to the establishment of the gay Asian community. In the beginning, there were little hints of a connection among this random assembly of individuals. Their families belonged to different walks of life and they adhered to traditions specific to their respective cultures and local histories. Even if they are attracted to their own sex, that remained a fantasy caged in the corners of their heads. |
