Abstrakt: The article explains the reasons why building cross-comparative capacity will be of benefit to nurses in terms of reflecting on their role. The effort of the healthcare system in the U.S. and European Union (EU) countries, like Great Britain and Sweden, to improve the quality of long-term care through availability of professional nursing is mentioned. Multiple, additional and socio-contextual factors of person-centered long-term care across countries are discussed.
