| Abstrakt: | A biography of Abraham Mooser, who was considered as the first Jewish businessman of Santa Monica, California, is presented. It provides a family background of Mooser, who came to the U.S. in the mid-19th century from the Bavarian town of Ichenhausen. Information is also presented on his enlistment in the Confederate Army in 1861, his establishment of a jewelry store in Elko, Nevada in 1870, and the establishment of the Abraham Mooser's Store in Santa Monica in 1912. |
