Abstrakt: The present study was conducted on 120 day old chicks of "Vencob" strain to assess the effect of distillers dried grains with solubles on the performance of broilers. The chicks were divided into twelve groups of in each. Three groups were randomly allocated on one of the four experimental diets. The chicks of control group (Group I) were Soybean meal as protein source, whereas soybean meal was replaced at 10, 20 and 30 % respectively with DDGS in group-II. III and IV. All chick groups were reared under identical management in deep litter system. Replacement of soybean meal at 10 or 20% by DDGS did not affect the weight gain, feed intake and feed conversion ratio. However the increase level of DDGS up to 30 % adversely affected the performance of the broilers. It was concluded that DDGS can be incorporated in broiler feed upto 20% in replacement of soybean meal without affecting the performance. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
