A literary criticism of the book “Coq Au Vin: A Nanette Hayes Mystery" by Charlotte Carter is presented. The novel has thematic elements of jazz. Detective fiction novel, Coq au Vin, has a thematic structure recognizing the music genre's diasporic and particularized gender-political roots. The author explores the black culture in the 20th century to utilize aesthetics for collective becoming. The author discusses African-American saxophonist Nanette Hayes's relationship to Paris and Jazz. |
