The article explores the connections between English poet John Gower and 15th-century author John Lyndgate. Topics include why Lyndgate is a major poet in his own right, the parallelism between Gower and Lyndgate in terms of political agenda and relationships to poetic authority, and the two poets' political engagement in their concern for the common welfare and good accord. |
