The article discusses the National Data Exchange (N-DEx), an investigative information sharing system that has been used by sheriffs and investigators in the U.S. in analyzing criminal justice information. Capabilities of N-DEx include detecting relationships between people, crime characteristics, and locations; linking information across jurisdictions, and identifying victims and aggregate losses of property. The system is managed by FBI's Criminal Justice Information Services Division. |
