Abstrakt: The article presents the author's views on the history of nursing and medical care in Germany. Various topics discussed include contribution of nursing science societies in the development of historical science, social services offered for unpaid family workers, intercultural aspects of nursing and history of social engineering in 20th century. It further discusses two important aspects in the history of nursing in Germany including professional development and their modernization. Breif discussion on the education of nursing in Prussia, Germany in 20th century.
