Abstrakt: The article reports on recent developments related to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania-based Temple University. C.J. "Jeff" Martoff, professor of physics at Temple University is to lead an international collaboration, called Directional Recoil Identification from Tracking, which is intended to make detailed measurements of the Dark Matter halo surrounding the galaxy. John J. Helferty, chairman of Temple University's electrical and computer engineering department, received one of Pennsylvania's 2001 Assistive Technology Achievement Awards for helping develop a tactile Braille conversion device while advising and mentoring a deaf-blind student. Computer and information science professor Dr. Robert Aiken has been elected president of the International Federation for Information Processing.
