Abstrakt: The article discusses the use of sex workers, particularly queer ones, as subject of visual art works. Also cited are the Greek vase paintings in the 6th-4th before the common era (BCE) as the oldest preserved depictions of queer sex workers, the various same-sex couplings depicted at the temple complex at Khajuraho in India, and the colored woodcuts depicting queer sex work in Tokugawa, Japan.
