The article discusses the 20th century German theater director, poet and playwright Bertolt Brecht's philosophy on theater and the technique of acting in Chinese drama of using self-observation from the 1950s through the early 21st century, including Chinese actors' methodology in the Beijing Opera of Beijing, China. An overview the Bertolt's perspective on the Chinese acting methodology through which the theater audience feels alienated from the theatrical performance, including the audience's lack identifying with the actors, is provided. |
