Abstrakt: The article presents a study which aims to investigate the role of substance abuse and related family disorders in filicide in South Africa. Information regarding the growing number of child homicide cases in the country, the importance of social support and medical services in the prevalence of the incident, and the two theoretical domains related to filicide such as social learning and social disorganisation.
