Abstrakt: The authors discusses the United States v. Newman case related to insider trading prosecution wherein the U.S. States Court of Appeals 2nd Circuit denied rehearing the case and the role of U.S. Congress to pass the bill related to the same. They offer views of Mary Jo White, chief at U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, on agency's' effort regarding banning insider trading. They also discusses lack of federal statute that prohibits and defines the practice of trading on inside information.
