Computer technology and Internet use have revolutionized communication, information delivery, and the daily tasks of dietetics professionals and are important for securing a place in the technology era and serving consumers better. This descriptive survey design assessed technology skills, perceptions, and applications among members of the Pennsylvania American Dietetic Association. Most professionals are using e-mail and with proficiency, but fewer numbers are performing Web applications with regularity. Access to appropriate technology tools resulted in greater proficiency. The skills gained as part of daily dietetic practice were related to professionals' perceived comfort and adequacy with technology. However, only 18% of employers from this sample provided Internet service for dietitians. The individual technology needs of nutrition professionals may need reevaluation in the workplace.
