Abstrakt: This study was designated to find out the awareness and attitude of Health Care workers toward implementation of universal safety precautions. The objective was to identify factors hindering the implementation. Four hospitals were used and 200 health care workers were sampled using accidental sampling technique. The data were elicited through validated questionnaire, which contained biographical data and five points Likert's scale. Data generated were analysed using descriptive statistical methods. The study revealed that 32(16%) of the health workers were not aware of universal safety precautions and they exhibit negative attitude toward it, especially housekeepers and Nurses. It also revealed that health institutions only provide hand gloves in abundance. Three out of the four hypotheses tested using' chi-square at 0.05 level of significance, were accepted. It revealed that educational states had influences on implementation of universal safety precautions. It was concluded that when health workers are in good health, work output would be optimum. They should be enforced to implement universal safety precaution for the growth of the community as a whole. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
