Abstrakt: The article focuses on author's account of the relationship between Canadians and Americans. The author says that he traveled stateside on two recent occasions, one to the U.S. Midwest for the Outdoor Writers of America convention in Missouri and later to Las Vegas, Nevada for the American Sportsfishing Show. The author might have expected it from the general populace south of the border, most of whom couldn't point to Ontario on a map, but he was more than a little taken aback when such an attitude surfaced within the outdoors community. It might be difficult to quantify and qualify, but a good friend of author who is an American by birth, and now a Canadian by residence, says that Canadian culture is distinct. Canada is a little country in a very big land that was borne from patience and compromise and has never suffered civil war.
