Abstrakt: Disseminated echinococcal disease can present complex management issues that require a multidisciplinary approach to care. We describe a patient with hydatid disease who had multiple cysts in the liver, lungs, and pulmonary artery that were caused by Echinococcus granulosus infection. Surgical resection of lung cysts probably contributed to the dissemination of infection to the pulmonary artery. The patietn subsequently was treated with decompression and marsupialization of liver cysts and given long-term albendazole therapy. Resection of pulmonary artery cysts was not attempted because of high operative risk. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
