Abstrakt: The article reports on a study concerning the influence of various factors on the motion of a submarine vessel (SV) traveling near the ice surface. Topics discussed include the effects of contours, cross section and protruding parts of the vessel on the length of flexural gravity waves (FGW), the typical shape and characteristics of an SV's hull used in routes with heavy ice and the effects of an SV's shape and length on its ability to navigate sea ice.
