Abstrakt: An interview with Indian film actor and director and human rights activist Nandita Das is presented. When asked about the film "Firaaq," she relates that it was a response to an act of violence in 2002 wherein riots in the state of Gujarat led to violence, displacement and the killing of some 2000 Muslims. She also shares that she is supporting a campaign called Dark is Beautiful because of the stereotyping that Indian actresses have to be light-skinned.
