Abstrakt: The article presents a study on the reason why Acorn Woodpeckers or Melanerpes formicivorus will subsist on foods other than stored dried accorns in the summer season. It mentions that young acorn woodpeckers need high protein food. The confirmation regarding one Acorn Woodpecker eating a lizard in the central coast of california is also investigated.
