| Abstrakt: | The article explores the origins and routes of the Bahamian vernacular. Topics discussed include language migrations from West Africa to the Bahamas and the prevailing conditions during the Conch period from 1718 to 1783, the Loyalist migrations from 1783 to 1809, and the Liberated African migrations from 1811 to 1860. Also presented are maps of Loyalist settlement in the Bahamas and African villages in New Providence. |
