| Abstrakt: | The article reports on European Bee-eaters Merops apiaster using an artificial nest site in a house built in May 2013 in Cadignano di Verolanuova, Brescia , Northern Italy. Adults and fledged young were seen in holes coated with plastic tubes built into concrete walls for water drainage. It also states that long term monitoring will reveal if artificial sites can increase reproductive success since the locations can be made less accessible to predator rats and snakes. |
