An essay is presented that explores the challenges faced by American artist and portrait painter Marie Danforth Page. Danforth Page received appreciation from critics for the creative expressions in her portraits of women and children. Danforth Page successfully copied the works of earlier artists. She married research bacteriologist Dr. Calvin Gates Page, who supported her career as an artist. |
