The article presents the insights of two members of the Assembly of Literature for Adolescents of National English Council of Teachers of English (NCTE). Topics discussed include Karin Perry's explanation on self-censorship in her capacity as gatekeeper of a school library, the findings of a survey of teachers and librarians on censorship, James Bucky Carter's discussion on the integration of comics and other visual texts into classrooms, and the demographics of comics readers. |
