Rawls' A Theory of Justice suggests that justice is a function of fairness wherein rules that govern society are set up to ensure that all members working within society will receive benefits when society succeeds. Rawls' theory of justice can be applied to modern groups by taking the definition of society and adapting that definition to other organizations, such as business. As an example, Ben & Jerry's can be studied as a model of how this theory of justice can successfully be applied to modern organizations, in this case a business, and produce desirable results.
