The article discusses the political position of the evangelical church Assembleia de Deus (AD) in Brazil in the 1980s during the process of democratization, focusing on the role of the journal "Mensageiro da Paz" as a mean of spreading the political views of the church. Topics addressed include an overview of the Brazilian political scenario at that time, the criticism of the AD against the Liberation Theology, and the debate about the Constitution during the constituent assembly of 1988. |
