| Abstrakt: |
A study on leachate production and emissions was conducted on seven Norwegian landfills for municipal solid waste. The leachate production was modeled based on measurements of their collected volumes and on the estimation of the water balance. These estimates makes it possible to evaluate if the collected leachate at a site is comparable to the infiltrated precipitation. The use of heavy carbon as a tracer for leachate is recommended.
