The article focuses on the performance of American runner Don Kardong who finished fourth in the Men's Marathon of the 1976 Summer Olympics held in Montreal, Quebec. A profile of Kardong by author and runner Hal Higdon published in "The Runner" magazine in 1980 is highlighted. The domination of the U.S. in marathon running in the 1970s is also emphasized. |
