An interview with "Philosophy and Literature" journal editor Denis Dutton is presented. He shares a chapter on smell versus music found in his book "The Art Instinct: Beauty, Pleasure, and Human Evolution." Dutton adds that his book highlights the work of culture on biologically evolved adaptations and its relation to a person's artistic values. He says the work of author Ellen Dissanayake inspired him in the later years of writing his book. |
