The article examines the life and work of Turkish artist Gülsün Karamustafa. Topics discussed include include the categories of her work, which are works that deal with concepts related to migration, boundaries, and identity, works that deal with her own personal history, and works concerned with gender roles and femininity. The different mediums she has worked in, which include canvas, ready-made objects, film, and photography, are also discussed.
