Elastics apply constant pressure to align the teeth in a perfect bite. It is one of the prime requirements now a days, that has simplified orthodontic treatment in many ways. Braces move teeth on jaws and elastics moves jaws relative to each other. Elastics are required in antero-posterior ,vertical correction and finishing stage.
