Abstrakt: The aim of this study was to determine the tensile bond strength of total etch and self etch adhesives on air dried and moist dentin substrates and post operative sensitivity after one week, under clinical conditions. The study was conducted on 120 sound human premolar teeth and divided into four equal groups Group A Tetric N Bond (Total etch bonding agent), Group B All Bond 3 (Total etch bonding agent), Group C Clearfil SE Bond (Self etch bonding agent) and Group D All Bond SE (Self etch bonding agent), of 30 each. Each group was further equally divided into subgroups based on dry and moist dentin conditions. The results of the study showed that amongst the total etch bonding agents, the maximum and minimum mean tensile bond strength was achieved with Tetric N Bond, moist dentin group (12.43 MPa) and air dried dentin group (9.47 MPa), respectively. Amongst the self etch bonding agents, maximum mean tensile bond strength was seen with Clearfil SE Bond, moist dentin (17.10 MPa) while strength was minimum with All Bond SE, air dried dentin group (8.94 MPa). Post operative sensitivity after one week was found to be maximum in Tetric N Bond, moist dentin group. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
